Mixed visit - Corn chowder: tasted great - was served warm, should have been hotter Meatball appetizers: sauce tested great , the meatballs had an odd texture. My daughter asked if we thought that they were frozen (I do not think they were - they just tastes like it) Limoncello chicken was excellent and the portion size was very large. The chicken parm was just as tasty. Service was a bit slow - took over 35 mins for apps to arrive at our table. Then the wait for the main course seemed delayed as well. They recently expanded the size of the restaurant - wonder if the kitchen is having issues keeping up with the increased orders.
A wonderful atmosphere, and great service. The food was delicious. The window seat was very beautiful. I would recommend this Lucia’s to anyone.
Have been dining here for years but that may have ended this evening. The owner has imposed a 4% surcharge for the use of a credit card and he is calling it a 3rd party service fee. Massachusetts is one of two states where it is illegal to impose a credit card surcharge.
Had birthday dinner with the family, 8 members in total. We were generally happy with appetizers (chowders and good-sized salads) but found the mains quite underwhelming. Had seabass, steak, shrimp, lasagna etc and nobody got really excited. Ok, but not good enough to come back. The service was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere reasonably cosy.
We heard about this place from a friend a few years ago, but something always prevented us from going. Not this time. First of all, not many of us would probably look for a white tablecloths restaurant in Ayer, but here it is. In the center of town, right on the main strip. Don't forget to reserve a table. You wouldn't just walk in. We requested a table outside in advance. It is behind the building, guarded by a concrete wall. It is nice, quiet, and private. Tables are set up far one from another. We really like the food, with one little exception: the appetizers were too crisp to our taste. Obviously, it was a fry dish, but still... The drinks were creative and tasty. The choice of glassware was a little odd, though. The service was excellent, and waiting time for ordered dishes was just perfect: not too slow, but not too quick. The meal was reasonably priced. Dinner for two with a few drinks for under $200 (with the tip) is not too bad for these days. Happy we went.
I came here with trepidation because I was with two Italian colleagues and I thought Lucia’s would not meet their exacting standards. However, I was worried about nothing. Our waitress had only been working here for three days which belied her professionalism. She address us politely and made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing. I had the Haddock and scallops which were wonderful. My colleagues ate the Manzo Brazato which they both agree it was “very good”. (They speak little English so this was great praise) The deserts were just as good as the main courses and the evening was completed by a Lavazza espresso.
We have been regulars since returning in November 2022 for our first indoor dining since Covid pandemic started. Our reliably superb dinners are shared Calamari Fritti and Risotto di Mare with delicious tiramisu for dessert. We always request that our server be Sedona who can be depended upon to provide efficient, friendly service.
Haven't been here since Covid-19 pandemic started. Lemonchello Martini was a sweet start. We enjoyed Calamari Fritti, Pollo Marsala sub Risotto and Risotto di Mare. Portions are still quite generous and we brought partial meals home to allow for sharing delicious Tiramisu. Sedona was our most pleasant, helpful and competent server. Looking forward to our next visit.
