Bandurria, hidden gem near highway

点评：Our guide, Miguel, was passionate, knowlegeable, very proud of the site and the work uncovered so far. There is no fixed price for the tour, and we got a top tear education (we read a lot before we do a tour). He spared no energy making sure that we understood the information though he had moderate English (the information boards have English, some peruvian brail and a q code that allows sign language for the hearing impaired). We speak passable Spanish and could grasp most of what he was saying, it would have been a much poorer experience without this.
This visit was a happy happenstance on our way back from Caral. Though Caral was just as wonderful and rich a site it was much harder to access and required a significantly larger amount of effort to get to (30+ km drive from the highway, Bandurria is 1.4km from the panamerican highway) .
Additionally, there is a Estuary between ocean and desert. If you like to view birds and vegetation that is contained in a very limited area this will be a plus for you.
In short, well worth the visit.
