点评:We’ve visited the tropical spice garden on several occasions and always find it a very interesting visit although on this visit we thought one or two areas looked more neglected than in the past. Nevertheless it’s good value for the entrance fee where concessions apply. There’s a helpful map and anti mosquito lotion available. An audio guide and/or a guided tour are also available.
This is not a botanic garden so if you’re expecting neatly laid out flower beds then you will be disappointed. Follow the path from the map…it can be a little rugged in places so anyone with mobility problems will need to take extra care.
Don’t forget to look up as well as down! There are some magnificent trees and a wide array of plants featuring interesting leaf patterns and some unusual flowers. It wasn’t the best time of year to see the large variety of spice plants which, on previous visits were prolific.
At the end of the walk, there’s a really good gift shop where all manner of spices are on sale along with other gifts. There is also a cafe which as closed when we visited and toilets( definitely in need of upgrading).
Highly recommended.
