Another great round-trip to and from Monhegan on September 27th and 30th! Due to traffic and weather, I couldn't make the boat on my expected departure date of Sept 26th, but the office was able to change my reservation to the next day with no problems. Everyone is friendly and efficient, and the boats are clean, reliable, and always on time! On the trip back the captain took us around the back side of Monhegan to show us the cliffs from the water, and we also spotted leaping dolphins and a Minke whale! A top-notch company.
2023:
I went out to Monhegan on September 26th, and back on October 6th, my first time back to the island after 19 years. I was glad to see this company's good customer service and fun boat trips hadn't changed. Check-in at the ticket office and the shuttlebus service from the long-range parking lot were easy and uneventful.
Got to take the "Laura B" (my favorite of the two boats) out to the island on a beautiful, cool, and sunny morning. There is always something interesting to see, like lobstermen at work and different sea creatures and birds - on this trip out I saw dolphins! The trip back was on the "Elizabeth Ann," through fog so thick you couldn't see 10 feet ahead of the boat. Despite that, Captain Scott got us safety back to Port Clyde exactly an hour later at 1:30.
Even after the fire, the ferry service continued. The employees and crew had remained as friendly, polite, and helpful as they had always been. I highly recommend this company for transportation to Monhegan.
