A Classic Disney Ride with Effects that Still Hold Up Quite Well

点评：My wife and on rode the Haunted Mansion on our recent visit to the Magic Kingdom. The line for the attraction was moderate. I think we waited 40 minutes to get on. It is not uncommon for the Haunted Mansion to have short break downs that pause the ride and delay the queue. These are usually only a few minutes long and they get it back up and running pretty quickly. The queue for the ride starts outside and is mostly under shade. This is more difficult on very hot days. This time of the year in the Spring it is not bad. The queue overall is very well themed. There are lots of things to look at and experience the detail that went into the design of the attraction. There are faux tombstones along the edges of the queue that have some humorous writing on them. Once inside the mansion there is air conditioning which makes things more comfortable. In the inside the theme is even more detailed. The cast members do a great job with their role both in playing the spooky part and in guiding guests to where they need to go. Do be aware that the attraction is moderately frightening. It may be too scary for some younger children. When my children were little they did ride it and were OK, but they did think it was scary.
Once aboard the ride vehicles, called doom buggies, guests start to experience the main part of the Haunted Mansion. There are details everywhere. The ride stopped for a few minutes while we were riding it. However, I didn't mind that much because I was able to take in many more details of the attraction that way. The pause was not long and we were on our way again. I always enjoy several elements of the attraction. I think the ballroom scene is fascinating. I like the singing busts in the graveyard. Of course the hitch hiking ghosts are always a highlight.
I highly recommend the Haunted Mansion. It is one of my favorite attractions at the Magic Kingdom, and one of the classics of Walt Disney World.
