A modern lifeboat station that is accessable, and a contrast to the earlier buildings

点评：It really is both a pleasure, and something of an education - being able to view the lifeboat, and walk around part of the facilities and station. Very engaging ladies in the shop, most helpful and informative.
This is one of four and is the latest lifeboat station all within 300 yards of each other. The other lifeboat staions are obviously less modern, and it is easy to visualise the hard life, and relatively unsophisticated equipement. Happily, although the dangers faced by todays volunteer crews are obviously the conditions of the sea, but are, of inevitably still the same, the latest methods of working, and particularly, the facilities, tools and especially the training make it substantially less hazardous, than previous years.
