点评:This was the most beautiful beach we found on T&C. You can do an excursion to get there but we rented kayaks from Big Blue Collective in order to have more freedom. Our party ranged in ages from 55 to 63 with moderate athletics abilities and we got a decent workout but made it out and back fairly easily. From BBC we kayaked east along the south shore of Iguana Island to the second large bay where many excursion boats had beached for swimming. We were the only kayakers and had many people ask us how to do the same thing. It was easy, $85 per person, several kayaks and one map and we were set. From that swimming beach on the south shore, we walked about 400 yards across the dunes to the north shore and were met with such a treat! The water was unbelievable even when we were standing on the top of a ridge looking at it. It took a while for it to sink in. The variety of rich blues was astounding. The surf was up and we were a little overheated from the kayak over so we decided to brave the waves. There was no rip tide but we had had to be on our toes to keep from being knocked over for the first 10-20 yards. Then we hit the sweet spot where the water wasn't too deep and we could bob in the waves without being pushed to shore. What a blast! I highly recommend it. If you see streaks of sand being pulled out from shore, that's likely a rip tide to avoid. We saw none so we just bobbed in the waves. That doesn't really do it justice. It was like being lifted up by a huge kite and then set back down only a couple yards closer to shore. Fantastic! We then had a picnic lunch on towels on the beach, then headed back to our kayaks. There was no risk of theft because thieves have no where to go, no way to tow them out, and would be to conspicuous. It's not even a consideration. We checked in advance to be sure a light breeze would be at our backs on the return leg. Do NOT make this drip if there's a strong wind out of the south. BBC staff will assess your skill level vs water conditions. If you decide to go via excursion, we heard prices ranging from $80 to $320 per person. Some included stops at Iguana Island and The Ark floating bar. No matter how you get there, Half Moon Bay will be one of the highlights of your trip.
