点评：The Dokumentationszentrum Alltag der DDR (now called the Museum Utopie und Alltag) is an excellent museum. Both the temporary and permanent exhibitions are really informative and the text accompanying the exhibitions is nuanced and detailed. The exhibition team has done an excellent job of placing Eisenhüttenstadt in its national and international contexts by pointing to how the development of the city can be understood alongside developments in the East and West during the same period. The text detailing life in the GDR is similarly nuanced and does a good job at putting a spotlight on state, local and individual experiences - which were by no means homogenous.
Tip: be sure to go to the Tourist Information office as well. They have excellent free leaflets with self-guided walking tours of the city. The opening hours vary, so check them online in advance.
