点评：Mermaid Tales Bookstore (MTB) is as magical as its name implies.
It is filled with a wonderful selection of mindfully curated books, as well as puzzles, kites & toys, & staffed by knowledgeable & helpful people.
A friend & I went on a gift seeking odyssey to Tofino, the ocean village in which MTB is located centrally in the town’s downtown area.
We knew the great reputation MTB — situated on Campbell street in Tofino (which is a non-identical west coast twin of Ucluelet, some 26 miles north of where we live) - has.
We happily set off on this gift acquiring journey, sure we would find what we wanted to get as gifts.
As it turned out, MTB reached far above our expectations.
Its staff member, Sarah, guided both of us to items that were perfect gifts, as well as offering us both new & rich learning.
Staff member, Rosanna, when I called by phone to see if I could find another gift, was as impressive, offering me much info & learning too.
We also found on our visit MTB had the latest hot-off-the press books available.
We were seeking David Attenborough’s “Ocean”, which was just released in the U.K. on May 8 — his 99th birthday — along with his full- film documentary “Ocean with David Attenborough”.
MTB had it already.
It is a wonderful hardcover with great pictures, priced @ 45$.
I also found the quirky puzzle I purchased @ MTB for my son for Father’s Day for 32.99$ was 5$ less than that advertised on Amazon.
It also gifts book buyers with free well- illustrated & designed bookmarks.
Win,Win, Win, Win.
MTB attracts a fair number of customers locally & from the surrounding west coast regions.
Given the things it offers those who shop @ MTB, is it no surprise it is often busy.
