点评:For those that love quiet strolling, beautiful nature, tea, and art, this place is a must-visit for seekers of serenity. An incredible hidden gem in the heart of Nakafurano, the Hokkaido Landscape Museum offers a quiet escape from the overbearing crowds of nearby tourist spots like Farm Tomita.
The gallery is housed in a historical school and features the paintings of painter Shuichi Okuda. Not only is the gallery and the art itself incredibly beautiful, but the gallery is surrounded by acres of lush green lawns and flower gardens, including a koi pond and a small chapel hidden within a patch of woods.
My husband and I visited in early June and we loved it so much I came back with my friends, and then with my coworkers. When we first visited, we had the incredible luck to speak with the painter himself, who lives within the grounds. He recommended that we try the picnic set, which included drinks, and traditional Japanese sweets. We thoroughly enjoyed our picnic while gazing out over the flowers and the koi ponds.
If you're lucky, you may get to meet the numerous cats wandering about the gardens, which are actually rescue cats that the painter has been saving from the surrounding countryside.
It is truly a wonderful experience and every time we visit we always feel relaxed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend this place for anyone that loves forest bathing, and simply relaxing in nature!
