点评：Traveling north from the Emerald Coast to Mobile, I added a stop in Summerdale, Alabama that is educational and fun for all ages. I planned my trip so as to arrive at Alligator Alley in time for the 11 AM feeding, the first of three each day. Though the temperature was below the optimal 85 degrees preferred by gators, the bright sunshine brought many of the 700 alligators who reside at the refuge to the water's edge where they could soak up the heat with their osteoderms...I told you this was an educational adventure!
In two separate locations-inside the cleverly themed gift shop and at a booth on the Swamp Boardwalk-commemorative cups filled with alligator snacks can be purchased for $6 (and refilled for $3). On the early spring day when I visited, although the larger alligators had not yet worked up an appetite after their winter slumber, some of the smaller gators were swimming in the water and did snatch any food that was thrown their way.
I recommend the following checklist during your visit:
-Watch a feeding
-Hold a baby alligator
-Purchase a cup of food and feed the swamp gators
-Take selfies with the residents lurking in the background
-Visit the themed gift shop that offers a variety of quality souvenirs for all ages
Team Members at Alligator Alley seem to love what they do and work hard to help guests create lasting memories. Even if you are not a reptile enthusiast, a visit to the well laid out and easily accessible Alligator Alley is worth 90 minutes of your time.
