Singapore’s MRT is the Gold Standard

点评：We spend a week in Singapore and nearly everyday we used the fantastic MRT. All modern cities need this. It makes traveling so easy, quick and cheap. In nearly all cases it is quicker than a taxi or Grab hire as well as being super cheap, super clean and super reliable.
You start off with an MRT card which you top up with your initial card purchase. We bought cards and $25 worth of travel each, by the end of the week we still each have over $10 worth of travel left. These cards can be topped up at any MRT station. Then it is simply a matter of tapping on each time you go through a ticket gate.
The service especially at peak hours is very frequent. I think the normal wait time is 2-4 minutes, the most we ever waited was 6 minutes. The network is very wide and you can go to many places including the city centre, Marina Bay, Chinatown (Maxwell MRT station), East Coast Park (Marine Parade MRT station).
The MRT will make your movements around Singapore so easy. I only wish Saigon had this service!
