Historic Venetian Art - watch the artists at work - tour finished pieces in the showroom.
Venice Art Mask Factory的点评
点评:Being able to tour the factory and watch the artists at work was the highlight of this adventure; we had a personal guide who explained everything in English (he speaks other languages as well). We were shown how the mask was made using a specific mold, how it was then primed & painted - then decorated. While most of the creations are meant to be used as masks, there are many (mostly larger) who are designed to be art objects, hung on the wall or displayed on/within a cabinet.
We were allowed to spend as much time as we wanted walking around inside the factory, looking at all of the masks/feathers/beads and watching the artists at work.
After the factory tour we were ushered to the very spacious and opulently appointed showroom where you could look, touch and PHOTOGRAPH (photography not permitted in the factory). Accompanying the fabulous display of masks was Murano glass art objects & jewelry as well as antique furniture that served as display cases - the showroom is an amazing experience, and is free of charge.
There is a 4 Euro fee (per person) to tour the factory; the factory is not open on Saturday or Sunday, but the showroom is.
