点评：After trying to arrive by train at Rose station on a train that didn’t stop there…….so check first……we got on a number 6 bus out of Barrow and the helpful driver shouted out the stop and a very helpful couple who were out walking just guided us in the direction they were headed. We headed straight for the desk for paying or checking your online booking. We had used this last method so the lady on the desk knew exactly who we were and went straight into the introductory speech. She was so knowledgeable. So we then started in the shop, bought some souvenirs, looked at all the artefacts on display, and lastly went outside to view the abbey from close quarters. It is only a ruin but what a ruin. If you are in a hurry or on a tight budget you can see a lot of the place from outside the grounds but you won’t savour the atmosphere from the past in that way. By the way, booking on line does save you money.
