Tri State Peak Trail的点评
点评：This is actually two hikes on the same trails. The Object Lesson Road Trail goes up and over the Cumberland Gap. The Tri-State Peak Trail takes off the Object Lesson Road Trail at Cumberland Gap. Too much information huh?
We begin on the Object Lesson Road Trail (interesting name and story. Look it up). The trail is wide and nicely graveled (particularly the first part). It goes through this dense forest of mixed plants and trees. But few views of anything, even at the top. All at once we were at the Gap. There's a small sign that notes the Gap. We almost missed it. But the trail beyond goes down rather than up, so must be the top of the pass.
The Tri State Peak Trail takes off at the Gap and is a bit steeper and not as well developed. Nice hike. It goes up to an overlook where the three states of Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee converge. At the top is a pavilion and three medallions – one for each state. There is a view toward Middleborough. But the two other views are obscured by trees. Neat to be where the states converge. T
