A “must do” visit on East Coast Tasmania

点评：Called into the Milton Vineyard en route to Bicheno. There’s a free wine tasting available in which you can try 5 of their wines or for just $10 per person you can “upgrade” to a tasting of 5 of their premium wines. As we found out, for your $10 you can not only taste the 5 premium wines but you can also sample the 5 “free” samples (provided you’re not driving of course). Amongst the wines to taste there are white wines, reds and rose.
We also sampled the two-cheese platter which not only tasted amazing but was also exquisitely presented. It comprised of a soft cheese drizzled with local honey and a brie-type cheese, served with biscuits, fresh peach slices, quince, fresh apple, dried apple slices and dried thinly sliced orange (see photo).
Before leaving, we purchased 2 bottles of their Pinot Gris (our favourite of the premium wines we sampled) and a jar of the honey.
I have to mention the lady who guided us through the wine tasting - so informative and knowledgeable. Also, whoever prepared our cheese platter is a true culinary artist. Thank you.
