magic venue to see bands like aussie band southern river band

点评：i went with my 19 year old grandson (i am 64) to what i can only say is one of the best small venues to go and watch a superb rock band, firstly getting in to the hall was no problem at all and we were served straight away at the bar by some extremely friendly bar staff with a draught beer that was slightly more expensive than the local pub price but a lot cheaper than many venues that i have gone to. the band we went to see were a australian rock band called "the southern river band" and i have to say they were better than the very first rock band i ever went to see -AC/DC-in 1978 at cambridge corn exchange. these four guys knew just how to rock and had the audience singing along and being part of a superb hour and a half set that included what i now deem as the best ever rock track written a 6 minute long song simply called "stan qualen", hardly any lyrics but wow what a mix of rock blues headbanging is essential!!!. they did loads of their songs, the streets don't lie (i have uploaded the gig live version of it on you tube just search for southern river band streets don't lie hare & hounds birmingham), vice city, gigarettes, f**ck you pay me (which will be there next single) and every one was in heaven for the whole set, superb drummer , bass, guitar and guitarist vocalist they are going to be huge worldwide i guarantee you that, buy there latest album called "D.I.Y." and see what you think, a huge thank you to the hare and hounds for allowing them to come to a great venue and made me and my grandson so happy. the drummer came up to me and gave me the drumstick he used and because i took off my t-shirt during the gig Cal looked at me and called me dad!!. great band, superb venue i will be checking who is going to be on there and be back even though i live two hours away, check it out yourself in the future- you will love it if you like the smaller venues---Thank you HARE AND HOUNDS, Vern
