Playa Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria – Beautiful but Crowded
We visited Playa Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria in November, hoping for a relaxing beach day. Google described it as a lovely spot, and visually, it is—a golden sandy beach with a picturesque backdrop of cliffs and resorts. However, it was far more crowded than expected for the off-season.
We arrived by taxi, which turned out to be quite expensive. If you plan to visit, I’d recommend using public transport or renting a car instead. Despite the crowds, the beach offers plenty of amenities, from sunbeds and umbrellas to beachfront restaurants. There are also areas where you can change into your swimsuit 😉
For the toilets you will have to pay, so bring change with you.
The water was calm and inviting, making it great for swimming.
While the setting is beautiful, the packed beach made it less enjoyable for those seeking peace and quiet. If you prefer a more relaxing atmosphere, you might want to explore other nearby beaches.
Would I visit again? Maybe, but at a different time of year or early in the morning before the crowds arrive.
