Incredible! Horses, views, routes, guides, foods, ocean — this week has it all!

点评：I went on a week-long (7 nights, 8 days, 6 days of riding) holiday with 3 full-day rides and 3 half-day rides. I have been riding for 30 years and these are some of the most incredible rides I’ve been on. The horses are very well cared for (many are rescues who have been given new life) and are incredibly fit athletes. They are sturdy, reliable, and well-trained while still having plenty of energy for long gallops. They are accustomed to things that would spook most horses and take it all in stride. The scenery, especially on the all-day rides (one from south shore to north shore, one in countryside in the middle of the island with amazing, windswept ocean views (my favorite!), and one to sete cidades to see the lakes), was breathtaking. There are plenty of opportunities to trot, canter, and full-speed gallop, and the guides are mindful of safety throughout. Rides are on even in inclement weather, so rain gear is a must. Fortunately, even on a cold and rainy and windy week by island standards, we had sun for at least part of all but one ride. Accommodations are cozy and comfortable on-site at the farm with friendly and helpful staff. Three meals a day cooked by Christina are consistently delicious and nutritious. The farm is just a 15-minute walk from the beach, providing ample opportunity for sunrise and sunset walks. This experience exceeded my expectations in every way, and I hope to return some day! Highly recommend.
