Junction 2; bar is good and some seating available. Nowhere to leave coats sadly.

点评：Went to see 999 at Junction 2. Brilliant gig. Last time I drove to The Junction so wanted alcohol-free beer, they didn't sell any. What a change; two good low alcohol beers on sale. Other half was pleased as they also had bottled Real Ale and from a good local brewery, Cambridge Moonshine. Bar service was a teeny bit slow but that's having to pour fizzy beers from bottles into plastic glasses so can't really be helped and the bar staff were very helpful. AND the bar takes cash; for us, cash is king! Quicker than cards as our round was a tenner, so we handed over a tenner and job done. Better prices than the Corn Exchange too.
We liked the fact that there are seats around the dance floor, slightly elevated, so we could sit down as we'd both been at work all day.
Only drawback is no cloakroom. Don't need a "manned" cloakroom which costs money both in staffing and for people to use. The West Road Concert Hall just has rows of pegs. People don't leave valuables in their pockets as no-one is that stupid surely. So many people in Cambridge are wearing manky waterproofs and more as they cycle to gigs; if someone wanted to steal my grotty waterproof jacket, their need is greater than mine! It was a really wet evening so people were struggling with wet coats and overtrousers. Find somewhere to put some coat hooks "at owner's risk". But all in all, we look forward to going to J2 again and hope that next time we go to J1 we have a similarly good experience.
