点评：We've used TFCR for several years and have enjoyed all our trips down to the Osceola Landing (the trip that the kids don't get sick of or complain about). We've gone with friends and alone as a family of five. We've always done the one-way trips but on our last trip, we stopped at a primitive NPS campsite (brown markers along the shoreline) and thought we NEED to camp here! The process is a bit opaque but I wanted to know whether we could rent canoes from TFCR because that would be super convenient as we don't own our own.
The answer is YES, you can rent an overnight or multi-day canoe(s) from TFCR to go camping but you need to call and arrange it, it's not listed as an option on the website. You do need a permit on the Lower St. Croix which you can find on the NPS website for the St Croix National Scenic Riverway camping page. Send it via email and receive the permit in ~3-5 days. My only feedback to the team would be to at least mention you can do custom arrangements by phone, would have saved me a lot of time. You will be looking at Map 8 from the NPS to find the campsites between Interstate State Park and the Osceola Landing. There's a bunch of them including the Eagle's Nest group campground with drinking water and bathrooms.
The staff was awesome to work with and we're looking forward to a fun weekend trip!
