点评:We arrived at the rather lovely Glass Barn and were charmed by the owner Chris, who generously chatted with us whilst we waited for our cheese/ distillery tour guide. It was a treat to find the shop open and tours operating when most places shut in January... the cows still need milking 365 days/year!
It was the day of Storm Aowyn and it was just us and another couple braving the weather but our tour guide Fiona was still willing to do the 2 hour tour and tasting in spite of horizontal rain!
Fiona was the perfect host; warm, friendly, knowledgeable and lots of fun. She proudly conveyed the resourceful sustainability of the farm where nothing is ever wasted. We got to meet the cows, calves, milking shed, cheese making room, the distillery using the excess whey and the cheese cellar. The tour culminated in an informative and generous tasting of the delicious cheeses, gin and wheysky followed by a trip to the charactful shop! I am a huge Banjo Beale fan so I have to admit to feeling a bit giddy and fan girlie at being able to enjoy the tasting in the bar designed by him on his Designing the Hebrides programme. The whole experience was a joy and comes highly recommended by me!
