点评：This part of the Reunion Island is also often called Sau Savage (Wild South Coast), of which Route des Laves comprised the majority of it.
I believe Route des Laves starts proper at Saint Philippe and ends at Sainte Rose.
Top sights include:
1. Plage du Tremblet and Tresta Star shipwreck
Need 2h roundtrip for this visit because car is not allowed to go down the road to the coastline. Plus, it takes time to walk over the lava rocks
2. Grand Brule
Solidified lava flow over the years, that become a field or new headland. The earlier eruption are mostly covered by vegetation whether wild or cultivated. The more recent eruption is still barren for the most part
3. Lava tubes
Tricky to find in general. I can confirm the "Lava Tunnel Eingang" location pinned on googlemap near the 2004 lava flow site exists. Make sure you take a powerful torch if you explore yourself. It is very humid inside the lava tube.
4. Anse des Cascades
Gorgeous waterfalls and cove situated near the easternmost tip of island
4. Notre Dames des Laves
Catholic church spared by 1977 lava destruction bc the lava flow on
both sides of it
There are interesting sites before the official start of Route des Laves eg Grand Coude, Langevin, Plage de la Marine Vincendo, Cap Mecant, Souffleur d’Arbonne, etc. So when you take into account all these, you would need 2-3 days total in the region to visit all
