点评：12 months ago we Strarted planning a 4-5 day kayak trip down the river Spey, with Northern Outdoor adventures. Dan "the nan" Smith took 8 novice kayakers down just under 60 mile of THE most beautiful areas we have in the UK. To say this was one of my best trips I've ever done is still an understatement. Yes the weather was stunning, as we all know what our Scottish climate is like, even in September!!.
Dan knowledge of the river and camp site's are exceptional.
You truly wild camp, cooking is ask taken care of by Dan & is able second guide, Ritchie. All over open fire. Sleeping under the stars, is a phrase week used when you read a brochure about an outdoor experience. This YOU really do exactly that !! Given a clear night of course 😆 and we did, EVERY night. Watching shooting stars and satellites tracking the night sky is totally unforgettable. Take a hip flask with your favourite malt, and breath.
On the river, Dan took us through exactly what he wanted us to do and Ritchie would go ahead to show us the line through some "very challenging rapids" . Yes we went upside down, but we were never in any more danger than a bruised ego. You carry everything on your kayak and strap all your gear inside dry bags. Just make sure you do them up properly....note to self rrrrrr.
So, overall. If you get the chance to experience this trip or another one organised through Dan and his team.... DO IT !!
Hats off Mr Smith, 4 days my brother and 6 mates will NEVER forget.
