点评:The fort sits at the very south-western tip of Portugal, about a 20-minute walk from Sagres town along the cliffs. It’s an unusual place but offers spectacular views across both the southern and western coastlines.
One of the highlights is a stunning artwork on the promontory that amplifies the sound of the sea, capturing the immense power of the waves.
We visited in February when the sun was a warm 19 degrees. With no shade along the walk, it felt surprisingly hot, so be sure to wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water. There are very few places to sit when you walk the path around the edge of the fort to the lighthouse, and lots of broken fences, so keep an eye on small children, it’s high up on the coastal path.
I travelled with someone who has a hidden disability and forgot to ask about discounted tickets until after purchasing four. The signage was unclear, but the fort’s pricing policy states that disabled visitors receive free entry along with their accompanying adult. When I realised this, I returned to the ticket office to request a refund for two tickets. The staff member’s manner was very rude and dismissive, making comments like, Now you tell me,"and “Apologies don’t save a sinking ship."This kind of response was unhelpful, and having to apologise for making a simple mistake while travelling with someone who is disabled was far from ideal. Despite explaining the situation, I was only refunded for one ticket instead of both.
If you're travelling with a registered disabled visitor, make sure to bring proof and clarify the policy before purchasing tickets. The entry fee is quite high compared to other cultural sites and monuments, so it’s worth checking in advance to ensure you receive the correct rate.
