点评：What a beautiful setting for peace and tranquillity. We could see why Patrick Pearse chose this location for a summer retreat and he must have drawn a lot of inspiration for his poems and short stories during his time spent there..
The history of the cottage and Pearse's life is interesting and forms an important part of Irelands history. He also gave his time to educating the children of Conamara using the cottage as a small school.
There is a small cafe in the visitor centre providing light refreshments. My wife enjoyed a scone with cream and Jame while I the soup. A big thank you to the staff and their enthusiasm during our visit.
Unfortunately, my wife lost her purse during the visit and she did not notice until we got back to the hotel. I telephoned the Office of Public Works who confirmed that the purse had been found and we collected it the following day.
A BIG THANK YOU to all the staff at Pearse's Cottage and the Office of Public Works who manage the excellent historical sites of Ireland.
On picking up the purse we had a drink and I tried the vegeterian quiche and my wife enjoyed a scone with cream and jam.
The visitor centre gives an excellent account of Patrick Pearse and there is an excellent photograph exhibition .
