Walking with wolves, a unique experience not to be missed!
Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre的点评
点评:We went out on a wolf walk with Northern Lights Wildlife this morning, something I’ve been looking forward to for a few months now, and it didn’t disappoint. Shelley and her staff, who run the wildlife centre were engaging and very knowledgable, clearly passionate about the conservation of wolves. We expected to be out for about an hour, but all in all with a safety briefing before setting off, and a look around the enclosures after our walk, we were there all morning. We walked with Flora, a Timberwolf who was hand reared and has been cared for by the centre for many years. She was very gentle and easily dispelled all of the “big bad wolf” myths that people are plied with from childhood. She responded well to Shelley, who has cared for the wolves for many years and who works hard to educate people about the true nature of wolves. It was an absolute joy to see Flora running free in the Canadian wilderness, looking so at home. She was clearly enjoying the sights and smells of the back country and there were ample opportunities to take photos.
For anyone with an interest in wolves, I would recommend a visit to the centre and a walk with one of the wolves. It’s a unique activity which gives first hand experience of how gentle these creatures are and how they interact with both people and the wilderness. The wildlife centre is a charity working hard to educate people and protect the wolves, which have been subjected to so much bad press over the centuries. If you find yourself in the area, it is well worth the time and money to experience a walk on the wild-side with one of Canada’s iconic creatures.
