点评:Although the cast was talented, the singing excellent, and the costumes enchanting, we felt compelled to offer a much needed counterpoint to all the raves this show has received. There are two major issues you should be aware of before you drop a significant amount of money on tickets. First, the venue is an intimate cabaret-style club, and the stage is not elevated. This means that unless you’re seated in the raised section at the rear or in the very front of the stage, you will only be able to see the performers from the waist up. And if you know anything about tango, that means you’ll be missing the most important part of the dancing: the legwork. The second major drawback is that they don’t prohibit the use of cellphones during the show, so even your partial view of the dancers’ upper bodies will be further obstructed by any number of idiots holding up their phones up to record the best parts of the performance. Until Rojo Tango institutes a sane policy (like most flamenco shows in Spain have) which restricts this barbaric practice, I strongly recommend seeing a different show. The lack of cellphone control demonstrates nothing but contempt for both the artists and the audience members who actually came for the live experience.
