马丘比丘的点评
点评：We visited Peru with Machu Picchu being one of the highlights. We were staying in Cusco and took the Inca train from there to Aguas Caliantes -(AC) where we stayed the night. The Inca rail consists of a 2 hour bus to Ollantaytambo to catch the train to AC. The train journey of 2 hours was spectacular with fantastic sights in a lovely carriage almost Pullman class in 2nd class- worth the journey alone!
Our hostel stay was best forgotten but we slept well. The next morning we were up at 6am to pickup the bus after meeting our MP guide. We had prepaid for the MP admission and bus transfer via a travel agency. You need to pre-book your MP ticket 3/12 in advance though our agent picked us a couple of tickets from the Ministry’s site.
We had booked the visit+ mountain but I didn’t realise that it didn’t include a guide and restricted your access. In the end, the mountain part was cancelled due to landslides so we ended up on route 2 with a guide- the VIP route he said😀
The coach rid to the entrance was an experience in itself but the first step into the site exceeded anything I imagined. It really matches the hype and you can get all the Instagram pictures that you want.
It certainly deserves its UNESCO recognition and its label of being one of the 7 wonders of the modern world.
