Aqualand Maspalomas – A Disappointing and Overpriced Experience

点评：Our visit to Aqualand Maspalomas was nothing short of disappointing. With an entry fee of €38 per adult and €29 per child, totaling €163 for a family of five, we expected an enjoyable and hassle-free experience. However, what we encountered was a park aggressively focused on upselling at every turn.
The moment we entered, we were immediately approached by a photographer with a large DSLR camera, pushing us to take pictures—clearly with the intention of selling them later. Despite politely declining multiple times, she eventually gave up, but not before snapping, “Okay, I won’t waste my time on you.” Not exactly the warm welcome we were hoping for.
Want to store your valuables? That’s an extra €7. Need a sunbed to sit down? That’ll be €5 per chair—so an additional €25 for our family. Worse still, once you choose a sunbed, you’re stuck there, making it impractical for families with kids who want to move around the park. Seating alternatives were virtually nonexistent, so unless you were willing to pay extra, you were left scrambling for a place to sit.
Although we visited slightly off-season, avoiding long lines, it was clear that the park is designed for excessive queuing. Their “Fast Track” system, which allows paying guests to skip the line, only prolongs wait times for those unwilling to pay even more on top of the already steep entrance fee.
The food was another major letdown. Overpriced and low-quality, with most meal options priced at around €18 for a burger, fries, and a drink. I opted for the fish and chips, only to be greeted with a lingering rancid aftertaste that ruined my appetite for the rest of the day. The fish was clearly freezer-burned and poorly prepared, while the fries were served in an embarrassingly small portion—about ten limp fries half-hidden beneath the fish. Want ketchup? That’ll be another €1 per packet.
As for the attractions, the water slides were okay but visibly aged, with faded colors and signs of wear. Cracks in various concrete structures gave the park an overall neglected appearance. The lazy river looked particularly unappealing, with a worn-down, murky bottom that made it seem downright unhygienic. The wave pool was disappointingly cold—colder than the ocean, which made it clear that the park was cutting corners on heating costs.
In the end, Aqualand Maspalomas failed to deliver on its promises. The constant upcharges, lack of seating, subpar food, outdated slides, and overall neglect left us feeling frustrated and ripped off. If you're considering a visit, save your money and look elsewhere for a better water park experience. 1/5 – Not worth it.
