点评:I have bad / arthritic knees but am of good health overall and I worried about the climb. I found it totally manageable and worth it.
There is a rail on most parts and some is sloping pathways some is steps. There are benches if you need a rest or pause on each turn. The forest walk is very pleasant and part of the enjoyment if you take it at your desired pace.
At the top the monkeys seemed very happy and could move away from crowds should they wish with all the trees and space around not fenced. Feeding them was lovely - go for apples when you buy the food at the hut as they prefer this to the nuts. 100 yen - for food. Cash throughout needed for this experience.
The views are also another reason for the climb.
On their website they link to a YouTube video that shows the climb and how to find the park from the station - it’s v useful for making your mind up based on your health needs.
I really enjoyed it and glad the climb didn’t put me off.
