Staying in the 6th Arrondissement
6th Arrondissement的点评
点评：After much deliberation, we recently settled on the 6th Arrondisement as the area we would stay in for our short stay in Paris. It turned out to be an excellent base for exploring Paris and the area has lots of character and charm. We felt very safe walking around at night.
We stayed at the Danemark, on rue Vavin, an easy, 3 - 5 minute walk from the Vavin Metro stop. Rue Vavin was a charming short street, with the Luxembourg Garden at one end and the Boulevard Montparnasse at the other.
The main highlight in the 6th Arrondissement has to be the Luxembourg Garden. Created by Marie de Medici in 1612, the 25-hectare park is an oasis that includes a palace, ponds, water features, fountains, an orchard and over 100 statues and free entry.
Other highlights include Saint relatively hidden gem, Church with its very beautiful Delacroix chapel of angels, the church of Saint-Germain and the Eugène-Delacroix Museum.
The streets of the 6th Arrondisement are lined with small interesting shops and upmarket boutiques. I bought some lovely children’s clothing at Petit Bateau. There are lots of smart cafes and restaurants but you will find a range to suit different budgets.
