Poor experience on Mothers Day weekend

点评：A poor experience. In fairness we arrived with an additional person after only booking for 2 due to a mix up. When I arrived I apologised and asked if it was ok, the lady who received us said it was in fact a problem and we were to stand at the bar whilst they tried to sort. I was apologetic and ordered drinks. We received our drinks and I asked they get put onto our table, the barman asked me to just pay as we might not get a table. I was accepting of this due to our mix up but it was an awkward thing to be asked. About 10 minutes later the lady appeared again and walked us through to a whole other part of the restaurant with about 10 spare tables. At this point I was annoyed as we were made to feel like such a burden and so unwelcome coming with an extra person.
We sat down and when ordered our food I asked if my peas could not be mushed, nope not possible and nothing else offered. The food came out, the starters were fine but the fish batter was the worst I’ve ever seen it seemed like it was from frozen, no flavour or colour. No one came to ask us how the food was. I asked for the bill and no one came back for 20 minutes. Whole experience was terrible which is a shame as I was treating my mum for Mother’s Day. I won’t be back as it seems the change in ownership has diminished the restaurant.
