A good experience that do easily could’ve been AMAZING.
Dera Amer Wilderness Camp的点评
点评：Let’s start with the positives. An overnight stay at Der Amer started well. On arrival a lovely generous lunch and good coffee were served. Followed by a walk to our camp for the evening. Our group of 5 were comfortably accommodated in a small fenced area comprising 2 tents with ensuites, a private outdoor dining area and a few steps to a pool, the perfect spot to cool off after a long hot day.
Drinks and starters were served around a small fire and dinner was served under the stars at a round table. Followed by a good Indian dinner.
My issue is that disappointingly but unsurprisingly( I have visited India more than 15 times) the drinks menu listed whiskey, gin, vodka etc at 600rp per glass. So not unreasonable to assume that when we ordered a whiskey it would be 600rp, another of our party ordered a gin and another a vodka… all listed on he menu at 600rp a glass. This of course was not what we were served. All of us were served “ premium spirits “ at VERY “ premium prices” I honestly can’t stand the fact that you are continually “ripped off” at every opportunity I feel I am taken advantage of… not once were we advised of the price difference nor were we given an option to choose which spirit was served. Not to mention a hefty 200rp x 10 for the soda water served with the drinks.. 😬
In short it’s pretty simple had you have told me I probably would’ve ordered the premium spirit anyway but it would’ve been an informed decision and I would not have been left feeling “ ripped off “ yet again in India.
That said our time with the elephants was fantastic and all the staff were great. My issue is with management and their choice to be “tricky” not a great business model in my opinion.
