点评:Snorkeling was one of the primary reasons we came to Bali. We were sadly disappointed. We went to Jemeluk Beach which was 5 minutes from our lodging. After parking, we had to walk through a tree-covered area that had various livestock and their feces (cow, goat, chicken, dogs) to get to the beach. Once there, we were told we had to pay 200k rupiah to use two loungers and a beach umbrella that were in sorry shape. Not a lot of money, but not a great value and we've never had to pay to snorkel at nicer beaches (Tonga, Fiji, Belize, Turks & Caicos, BVIs, etc). The beach itself was littered and so was the ocean. The jukungs (local boats) were using their outboards to transport tourists to different locations, and there was a thin layer of oil on the surface. It made us sad to think what this may be doing to the sea life - we were fortunate to be able to shower all the oil off of us when we returned to our lodging. A disappointing experience as we travelled a long way from California just for the snorkeling and diving.
