Temple with good vibration, maintenance is lacking
Thiruvidaimarudur Mahalinga Swamy Temple的点评
点评：This large temple has good peaceful ambiance. Mahalingeswarar is the main deity and Ambal temple is on the left. Evening deeparadhanai accompanied with nadaswaram, thavil and bells with the temple hall acoustics is truly magical!!
My rating for this temple is for the overall experience and NOT the temple by itself which is wonderful by itself.
Sign board says this temple is maintained by adeenam, neverthless maintenance is sub par at best, with weeds growing in paved and unpaved areas, dark mandapams with dull or no lights, walls, gopurams and vimanas are unmaintained with molds growing on them (decide for yourself, see pics), etc., Simply shows lack of pride and apathy of management and devotees towards otherwise a wonderful temple.
This temple is well connected by public transportation on Mayiladuthurai - Kumbakonam highway about 8 kms from Kumbakonam. This is a must visit temple along with Thirubhuvanam temple and Vittal Rakhumai temple which are all few of each other. This temple takes about an hour to make it a memorable visit.
