点评：DO NOT RENT HERE! They will send you into the backcountry with broken and grossly un-maintained gear. Of our group of 6 that rented gear we had 5 equipment failures. From snowboard bindings, to boot buckles, and even binding failures. Needless to say this is a HUGE risk when touring in the backcountry.
As for my particular issue, my left binding would engage without quite a bit of finessing (my right binding was totally fine). When skinning up my binding ejected a total of 5 times on the first lap. As a result I had to cut my day short while my buddies all enjoyed a perfect powder day. Note I am not new to touring and have NEVER had an issue like this.
When I took my gear back and explained the situation to Tom he took a look and said “yes, I see there is an issue here”. He said he would talk to his manager and try to get a refund issued.
When I returned two days later to drop off the rest of our groups gear Tom had changed his story and said “we determined the issue to be user error” and that he would not issue a refund.
I cannot begin to express my frustration with this shop as not only did they rent out broken gear and ruin my one day in the backcountry here, but they also admitted fault and then reversed course and lied about it.
DO NOT RENT HERE. You may end up stranded in the backcountry because of poorly maintained gear.
