If you like flea markets, it is certainly worth a visit
Monastiraki Flea Market的点评
点评:The entrance to the Flea Market is off Monastiraki Square which can be easily reached by the metro. The market is a series of pedestrian-only streets and alleyways that surround Monastiraki Square and the remains of the Agora. It is a large market with lots of vendors selling a wide variety of items. Most shops are selling brand new touristy souvenir stuff but then some are selling older items acquired by a different generation. Numerous shops have clothes, shoes, and sportswear. If you are interested in some of the large, older items, make sure you have a plan on how you will get them home. It may be a unique once-in-a-lifetime find, but will it fit in that suitcase? There are also numerous small restaurants, cafes, and bars in the area with most having some outside seating. Although it may look a little seedy, it is supposed to be a relatively safe area, although you should always be on guard for pickpockets and I don't think I would roam the area at night. I didn't see what I would consider a lot of locals shopping here, so although you can have a great time, don't expect to find great prices.
