点评：My wife and I visited Mohenjo Daro a week ago. We were met at Sukkur airport by Irshad Solangi who is the local tour operator for the site. He picked us up in a car and drove us to our hotel, the RT Grace, and helped us check in. The next day he picked us up and drove us the two hours to the site.
We then spent about three hours touring the site. While it looks like most guides just take visitors to only one of the five sites at Mohenjo Daro, Irshad took us to all five. It’s a bit of a walk but luckily for us it was overcast and cool.
I would definitely recommend a guide as otherwise many of the nuances of the site would have been lost to us. Irshad was very detailed and very knowledgeable, pointing out all the salient features.
We finished at the museum and then with a lunch at the site that we paid for. We were then driven to the airport, where Irshad waited until he was sure that we had checked in. I should point out that we were required to travel, when in our car, with an armed escort according to Pakistan government rules. The guards were very friendly (my wife posed for a photo with a machine gun toting ranger) and unobtrusive. The guards were coordinated by our guide.
All in all, it’s an out of the way place, but how often do you get to see a civilization that dates from 3500 BCE? I highly recommend a visit and I also highly recommend Irshad Solangi as a guide.
