点评:I had found out about this place on the Smart Shanghai app a few months ago and had been planning to go, my last pair of glasses having been subject to a few too many superglue repairs of late.
Lucy's shop was recommended and as I walked in, it was one of the first ones I saw on the ground (or first, as they call it here) floor. Oh yes, someone also said the plaza is quite hard to find but if you take a Didi then it will drop you right outside the door.
Lucy herself greeted me and was quick to bring out different sets of frames, when I told her what I needed. There were many to choose from but it didn't take me long to settle on two pairs (I thought it was high time I had a spare pair - or rather, one pair for more 'formal wear' given that it isn't cheap).
They often talk in the west about it being the frames that cost the most but it was actually the lenses, here. I have to wear 'progressive ' lenses these days and also want the tinted 'transition' lenses for the sun. That in mind, the lenses were offered as 'free' but it was still quite pricey though still probably cheaper than in western countries and also cheaper than my last pair which I'd bought in South Africa. The lenses are, however, assured to be the best quality with top brands such as Zeiss used and the ones I have are very light, considering my eyesight is pretty weak. As for the frames, I chose a pair of Ray-Bans and a pair of Porsche design brand also caught my eye and I am very happy with both pairs (and intend to keep an old pair for bedroom use now so as not to repeat any incidents - especially after beers).
I was wearing contact lenses and needed to take them out to check my prescription. When I did so, I noticed one had gone horribly out of shape (no doubt due to overwear during the holiday thanks to the aforementioned, moribund eyewear). Lucy asked me what kind of contact lenses they were and gave me a six-month pair free of charge!
Lucy is very polite and helpful with quite a charming personality and is sure to help you find exactly the kind of glasses you require and ones that will last for years.
Overall, a very pleasant and unhurried experience. There is also an offer to replace any defective lenses for free!
