Ducks games are a lot of fun - quack quack

点评：I was visiting family in the area and I saw that the Anaheim Ducks were playing my home team the last night of our trip. We bought the hockey tickets both to see my childhood favorite team and experience a new hockey arena.
Ducks fans sure are dedicated despite having a more lackluster team. It was fun to experience a fanbase like that in person. The merchandise was a solid mix of new and old-school too, which I appreciated.
The Honda Center itself was also an interesting arena. It almost looked like a shopping mall on the outside and felt like one on the inside, too. It didn't feel much like an arena to me. I was also surprised to not see any escalators anywhere - unless we just missed them somehow.
My only real complaint as someone up in the 400 level was the lack of food choices. Most of the food vendors offered the same kinds of things and they were dispersed pretty far apart. I also feel like the self-serve ordering almost doubles the amount of time you spend trying to get food. You wait in line to order then have to wait in another line to get your food, instead of just ordering with a cashier and getting the food right then. We missed almost the entire second period (including the intermission) getting food.
Overall though I'd say if you're a hockey fan, it is worth going to check out the Ducks if you're there during a home game. As of April 2025 there was a lot of construction on a new entertainment district and parking garages, but they said it's supposed to be completed by the start of the 2025-2026 season. You're also right down the street from Angel Stadium.
