点评:Must admit to having lived in Sussex for many many years without being aware of this place. There is a need to book in advance and process was easy for this. There was also free parking nearby and as all visits are scheduled the car park has a regular flow in and out.
In terms of the house it is small compared to the usual large National Trust Houses with four rooms to enter. However these are brought to life by the volunteers and have plenty of information to share and best to make the most of them by asking questions.
Externally the gardens are delightful and at the time of my visit the Tulips were fantastic.
There was also a “shed” which is an outhouse which was used for writing back in the day. This was ahead of it’s time compared to those that now work from home in similar set ups in their garden.
There was also an interesting reading in the gardens which is at regular times.
Volunteers did a fantastic job and the nice weather was an added bonus.
Would have liked the opportunity of tea and cake to be available but appreciate this may not be easy to set up for this location.
