点评：So I did not know what to expect for this trip, however I was amazed. The location is up the hill and the owner Panikos has a very large warehouse/shop with a beautiful variety of clay pieces.
I booked and thought that it was in a small group setting but it was 1:1 which was even better.
Panikos is a lovely, lovely gentleman who likes to be asked questions about the history of clay and all the relevant questions about design and technique as I am a complete newbie to making pottery.
He started off by explaining the different stages of the pottery process and showed me some pieces that his other customers had done and then he gave me a demonstration!
I was captivated by the level of skill he has and also at how relaxing it was to watch and also how therapeutic it was.
I decided that I wanted to make a candle burner and also a mug.
I was nervous of the machine but quickly got the hang of it and the advice I would give is to relax, embrace your surroundings and it just comes.
Panikos advised that I was pretty good for a beginner, which boosted my confidence and then I was away and on a roll.
I chose my colour as it would need gazing and firing and you don’t stay for that.
My products will go via freight back to the UK which will be a nice surprise in around a months time.
I can’t wait. Will upload pictures of the end product once they get to me.
He has Wi-Fi in the shop to upload pictures or take photos and also he has loads of other trinkets that you can purchase as a memory if you dont like the idea of taking a class.
There is a bus service that runs right outside the shop, so transport links are very good 👍🏽. Usually 2-3 euro one way.
This is something I believe everyone should try especially as it is the most organic and authentic setting you will find.
I will be doing this again when I am back in Cyprus.
