Amazing service, amazing view, amazing experience, amazing gig!
The Garage的点评
点评：I've been to this venue dozens of times over the years and have always though that it's the perfect venue for a gig. It's definitely one of my favourite venues in the UK and, at the age of 71, I've been to hundreds of gigs (I probably still average about 3 or 4 gigs a month). The reason I'm going into such detail is because of the service we received last night. My respect for the venue - and it's staff - increased dramatically and here's why:
A couple of months ago my wife, Linda, and I had bought tickets for a reunion gig of one of our favourite bands, the Temperance Movement. It sold out in minutes so we knew it'd be a busy gig. Fast forward to the night before the gig and I was a little worried because, in the intervening period, my wife had undergone surgery, was still feeling a bit tender and didn't want to be jostled or bumped.
I contacted the Garage and spoke to the deputy manager, Kelly, expressing my concerns. She could not have been more helpful, telling me that they had specific areas for people in similar circumstances.
She went to the bother of e-mailing me photo's of where we could be seated and arranged for her colleague, Mark, to meet us upon our arrival and escort us to our seats, where we had an uninterrupted view. I asked to speak to Kelly to express my gratitude and she turned out to be as likeable as I'd hoped. I was still surprised at how helpful and friendly they both were.
The gig itself was everything we hoped it'd be. The band were in top form helped by an incredibly enthusiastic audience but our experience was absolutely enhanced because of the effort Kelly made to ensure Linda was safe and secure. She backed it up with a couple of e-mails ensuring we got home safely, asking if we'd had a great time etc.
I admit that it was an emotional evening for a variety of reasons but the main one being the incredible service provided by Kelly, aided and abetted by her colleagues. As a direct result of her help, LInda and I had the best night out we've had this year. I've thanked Kelly personally but still wanted to say on Tripadvisor that, if one of your favourite bands play the Garage, jump at the chance to visit this marvellous venue!
p.s. The Temperance Movement are also playing the Barrowlands (aka The Barra's) in April and it will, no doubt, be amazing but, based on our experience, it won't beat last night in the Garage!
