Fabulous day trip to olive country just 40 minutes outside of Rome

点评：My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tour of the olive growing region in the Sabine Hills just north of Rome. We were hosted by the owners of Convivio Rome, who also provide cooking classes, and wine tours. We were met at the train station by Guido who whisked us away driving through the beautiful rolling hills of the Fara Sabina area known for its olive groves and olive trees said to number in the millions. Guido shared his deep knowledge of the history of the area as well as olive growing and production of olive oil.
We were then invited to the home of Sally and Guido for a wonderful spread of local cheeses, charcuterie, olives and wine which were absolutely delicious and served on their back porch overlooking a stunning landscape of the Sabine Hills and valley far below.
We hope to visit again on another tour or class!
