West rim worth the visit - skywalk....not so much.

点评：Visiting the Grand Canyon is truly a lifetime experience for many and definitely not just a bucketlist attraction. Anyone travelling to the USA southwest, in particular, Las Vegas, have the opportunity to visit this world wonder in a ~ 2 1/4 hour drive to the western rim which is much more manageable as a day trip than then 4.5 hour drive to the southern rim. The western rim is on Hualapai reserve land and visiting the west rim requires an admission of around $69 USD at the time of this review. The admission includes on-site shuttle transportation to two main points of interest on the canyon rim itself - Eagle Point and Guano Point. Eagle point is where the famous "skywalk" is located but has a separate admission cost of approximately $23 USD per person. I would say the cost to enjoy photographic opportunities here would be worth the incremental cost of the attraction, however, no personal items are allowed on the skywalk including cell phones or cameras. Instead, Hualapai photographers follow you for a series of several poses before leaving you to enjoy the views yourself. You may purchase those photos for an additional 55 USD. Unfortunately, the quality of the photos (likely a function of both time of day and experience of the photographer) in my opinion were relatively low quality and the viewing experience is really detracted by the interruptions and distractions of multiple groups having their photoshoots. Much more enjoyable, was the experience at Guano Point featuring a much larger area of outcrop to see the canyon features in near almost all compass directions. We were fortunate to arrive there around 5:30 in the afternoon and stayed until sunset which was absolutely stunning. My recommendation for the west rim experience - skip the skywalk and enjoy the views at Gunao Point!
