点评:After doing the city of Dubrovnik, Cavtat was a pleasure. Its a €4 each way on the number 10 bus and takes 35 - 40 minutes, usually on the hour and half hour. You can pay on the bendy bus or buy a ticket at a booth. There is no advantage in buying a return ticket, so get a one way ticket and that leaves you the option of taking a ferry fro the harbour back to the city if you fancy it.
It's a nice walk around the peninsula with a gentle undulating path and lots of benches to admire the views. There are marked beaches, but dont expect sand; they are rock beaches and surprisingly nice they are too. I lay down for a minute and fell asleep for an hour!
There is however a pretty steep climb if you want to visit the cemetery and mausoleum. It is on the highest part of the peninsula and is gorgeous. The mausoleum is not what you would expect and the cemetary is pristine, well worth the effort though.
The information centre at teh bus stop will happily gove you a map of the area and highlight the things to see, museums, statues, churches etc
The harbour is pretty with lots of bars/restaurants and a rather good ice cream shop.
For a day out, its just the thing, no noise, no hassle, no multinationals
