点评:Travelling around The Philippines foe four weeks with three friends , was staying in Baguio for three nights and our hotel across the road recommended this restaurant . We were passing by at four in the afternoon and decided to call in and make a booking for that evening at seven . So we walk up to the front door of this beautiful old wooden building , a girl outside asks us to wait , she will fetch the manager . He comes out and takes our details , he asked for a deposit , that’s not normal , but it’s exceptable. Then he produces a menu and asks us to choose our meal for that evening . Starter , main course , desert . I have never anywhere been asked to choose my meal when making a booking . I tried to make sense of it , maybe they are so busy and we are lucky to get a table that this is the norm for this restaurant . So there we are at four in the afternoon , on the steps outside trying to decide what we want to eat four hours later . We comply and walk back to the hotel .
We arrive at seven and are shown to our tables , we are the only people there . Later a couple arrive and the a lone diner , so a total of seven people in the restaurant that night . We are handed a drinks menu and choose a red and a white wine . Before our water or wine is on the table our preordered starters are on the table . We called the waitress and asked for our drinks , we were half way through our starters by the time it came . The waitress then stood about six feet from our table and did not move for the night . It was as if she was part of our group , there was no privacy . A lovely girl , but training is required , no sooner did you put down a glass then she was refilling it . As soon as our plate was empty it was removed , within seconds , then immediately our main courses were put down , there wasn’t time to draw breath . Less than one minute between courses . Rushed does not fully describe it . As we were getting to the end of our mains , one of the party called the waitress and said : do not bring out our desert until we say that we are ready . We waited about twenty minutes , had a glass of wine , then asked for our desert . Two of us had ordered crepes , but when they arrived they were cold . It was obvious that they had been made earlier , to be served as soon as our main dish was finished . When we asked them to hold back , they just put them to one side . Crepes are served hot not cold . We refused them and asked for them to be remade , which they did .
The owner of this restaurant needs to take the manager to one side and give him some training , this is not how you run an expensive restaurant , and it is expensive by Philippine standards . Laperal is the restaurant version of :speed dating: if I wanted fast food I could have gone to McDonalds .
