点评：I had simply the best morning at Turnberry Adventures in May for my birthday and felt compelled to record my first trip advisor review in a few years as a result.
My wife had booked the 4X4 off road driving for us both to enjoy and upon arrival we were greeted warmly by Andrew, who has recently taken delivery of an INEOS Grenadier, and shown around the vehicle. What andrew doesn’t know about the history of landrover defenders and the grenadier itself isn’t worth knowing - it was interesting and enjoyable listening to him explain his take on the Grenadier and its capabilities.
We were taken on a short drive around the 4x4 course, which included mini hills, water features, rocks/boulders, embankments, steep climbs and lots and lots of wet grass and mud. As we were goin round Andrew explained what he was doing (and therefore what we would need to do) and why. He took away most of tue anxiety I had prior to having my turn.
Andrew patiently reassured and led me round my “lap”, and gave me confidence to give it “more gas!” When required - I had so much fun driving this vehicle and happily made it round without stalling / crashing / getting stuck. I had sore face muscles as I spent the entire hour grinning from ear to ear. My wife was up next and did even better than me - no surprise really she is a great driver - and managed to hit the 20 degrees mark on the embankment corner, I was holding on for life!!
After our turns were over Andrew took us on to the old airstrip and we got to see how fast the three ton grenadier can go… amazing - thank you so much Andrew!
We were then introduced Jamie, who leads the Flying School and Falconry experiences at Turnberry - what a job this man has, working with some of the most magnificent birds of prey in the world. We were introduced to falcons, hawks, owls and a pair of Golden Eagles. We were very fortunate to experience Bono the owl having his exercise for the day with us, flying between our gloved hands before getting his reward of chicken pieces. We were nervous but Jamie put us completely at ease throughout.
Jamie was an absolute gentleman, and his calm and thorough explanations on all the birds, their weight management, handling and descriptions of the birds personalities was an absolute joy to listen to. We learned so much and really appreciated the time he took with us and his birds.
What a fantastic day, we will remember for a long, long time and I’ll finish by saying I would thoroughly recommend Turnberry Adventures, their professional and welcoming staff and the activities we experienced were absolutely first class. Thank you! We will be back!
