Poor experience, disorganised and lacking customer service.

点评：We visited as a small group from Australia/New Zealand and loved the traditional look and feel of this pub. We had to wait quite a while to be served although the bar area was quiet - the bar tender was being trained and very helpful.
It was 12-15pm - Whilst waiting we happily planned our meals by the bar using the menus available on the bar. After 15 mins we ordered drinks and meals to be told - oh we aren’t doing meals anymore today as we have a Christmas function in the other room. There were other patrons eating in the bar. Whilst waiting another group had come in who had made a reservation months before - they were told that reservations were no longer possible in the bar and that it could not be honoured. Another person came in who was told the function was at 1 and it was therefore too early.
All in all it was quite amusing - like League of gentlemen. Really disorganised, locals having the funniest conversations and none of the staff except the newbie being at all interested in any semblance of customer service. We drank a little of our freshly poured drinks and now with no food we went up the road to the Bear where the staff could not be more different- super helpful and managed to fit us in although it was very busy.
The pub does have a cosy feel and seemed spotlessly clean.
